We often produce slightly larger doors for our customers, measuring 120 x 210 cm. What is the maximum width of the opening in which they can be installed? We recommend that door openings not exceed 110cm for best results.

For this size, of course a double leaf option is available, ie double the 60 cm. This option works best in a living room, dining room, or other larger room.

Let's take a look at the most popular door openings and door widths to help you understand how door selection works. Remember - the smallest excess you need to consider is 6cm.

This means that if the opening width is x cm, the door width y will be equal to or greater than x + min. 6 cm. So: y ≥ x + min. 6. Luckily, it's pretty simple math!

What is the Difference Between a Sliding Door and a Hinged Door?

If you're interested in interior design, or if you've done initial research on the subject of doors, you probably know how hinged doors are sized based on the opening they're installed in, right? What does a sliding door look like?

Let's take a look at the 80cm door opening. Standard case.

For swing doors the width will be less than the opening width due to the difference due to the need to install the frame i.e. 70cm.

For sliding doors, the width will be at least 6 cm greater than the opening width, which is 90 cm.
